Elder & Executive Pastor
Sean Carmody
Sean has been connected with this body of believers since his childhood and has led many different ministries over the years. In the fall of 2021, he joined the Berkley Chapel staff as the Executive Pastor and also serves as one of the seven elders. He teaches our Foundations class twice a year which also serves as our membership on-ramp course.
After 22 years of service, Sean retired from the Auburndale Fire Department in 2018. He holds a B.A. in organizational management and currently owns/operates a local real estate brokerage, Carmody And Associates, LLC
He is married to his beautiful wife Judith and between them they have five children and twelve grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his family, serving the church, hunting with friends & riding on his airboat.

Elder & Executive Assistant
Ben Aubin
Ben has been married to Cindy for 31 years. They have two children, twenty-seven and twenty-nine years old (both married) and two granddaughters, 1 and 3 years old. Ben has a diverse background in civil and structural engineering, physical security and currently runs a successful business for the past five years that designs and sells equipment and training to the law enforcement, military and security sector.
Ben has been the director of security for ten years, a small group leader for three years and an elder for the past 2 months. Additionally, Ben has most recently come on staff part time as the executive assistant to the executive pastor taking on additional responsibilities in the church during this time of transition.
Ben has an education from American Military University with a focus on Intelligence Studies / Counterintelligence. He has completed numerous levels of coursework from Dallas Theological Seminary and Creation Science Evangelism. Ben has a passion for discipleship, teaching God’s Word and writing. Ben is a dedicated father, grandfather and pastor who enjoys using hobbies such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and other outside activities to connect with people personally and spiritually.

Elder
James Curtis
James Curtis has been a dedicated member of Berkley Chapel for the past five years and has served as an elder for the last year, contributing to the spiritual growth and fellowship of the church. In addition to his role as an elder, James leads the men's ministry and regularly hosts a small group at his home, creating a welcoming environment for faith and community building.
Married to Bridget Curtis for 29 years, James is blessed with three grown sons—Trent, Clint, and Brent. The Curtis family is deeply committed to the church community, with Bridget leading the women's ministry and coordinating church-wide fellowship events. Together, they also own and operate a small business in the community, embodying the philosophy of business as a ministry.
James and Bridget are passionate about teaching young people the importance of stewardship, inspiring others to share their time, talents, and treasures in service of their community.

Elder
Gene McDonnell
Gene McDonnell is an Elder at Berkley Chapel. He also runs the iServe community service ministry. The iServe ministry is dedicated to Community Service, “Serve Him by Serving Others” through monthly engagement in various service projects for not-for- profit groups and other community initiatives. Additionally, Gene volunteers as Berkley Chapel’s Sunday Services Coordinator to ensure smooth operations during both
services each Sunday morning and provide support to volunteers serving in the Guest Services, Coffee & Donut, and Usher teams. Gene also volunteers as Small Groups Pastor to oversee the multitude of small groups utilizing Berkley Chapel facilities on Wednesday evenings as well as growing the small group community at Berkley Chapel and in group hosts homes.
Gene is committed to being a Doer of the Word. He is passionate in his service to the Lord through dedicating his time and energy to further the core mission of Berkley Chapel: Helping People Find and Follow Jesus.
Gene has been married to his wife Rebecca for 14 years. Their family includes three children, ages 18, 21, and 24, and a daughter-in-law. Gene and Rebecca have attended Berkley Chapel since 2016.
Gene has worked for Keiser University for 24 years. Gene serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor of High School Relations, providing training, development, and guidance to all campuses in the University system.

Elder
Cleve Page
Cleve Page and his wife, Cristol, have been joyfully married for 38 years. Their journey together began in 1983 when they met through a College and Career Sunday School class — a connection that blossomed into a lifelong partnership. They are blessed with two adult children, Dakota and Katie, and are proud grandparents to five grandchildren.
Cleve dedicated 23 years of service to the United States Air Force, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. His commitment to service continued for an additional 17 years through Air Force Civil Service, culminating in his retirement in 2023.
The Pages have been faithful members of Berkley Chapel for three years, and in December 2024, Cleve was ordained as an Elder. They deeply cherish the fellowship of Berkley Chapel, appreciating the congregation's diversity and the steadfast commitment to handling God’s Word with truth and reverence. For Cleve and Cristol, Christ remains preeminent, and they are inspired by how the Gospel is actively lived out within their church community.
Cleve actively contributes to the church by teaching a Chapel Group, sharing his passion for Scripture, and guiding others in their spiritual growth. Both he and Cristol are devoted to faithfully following God's will and are eager to disciple others in their faith journey, encouraging them to walk closely with the Lord.
Their lives are a testament to God’s grace, and their dedication to serving others reflects their unwavering commitment to the Kingdom of God.

Elder
Dale Shirah
Dale and his wife, Michelle, have been happily married for over 30 years. Together, they have raised three wonderful sons and are proud grandparents to six grandchildren—two granddaughters and four grandsons. For more than two decades, they have been devoted members of Berkley Chapel, serving and worshiping alongside their church family.
Dale’s love for music began at a young age, singing with his family and later traveling across Florida for seven years with the Gulf State Quartet. He has also been a dedicated member of Berkley Chapel’s praise team for over a decade, using his voice to glorify God and lead others in worship.
Beyond music, Dale is deeply committed to ministry. As an elder and small group leader, he and Michelle faithfully lead the Sunday evening prayer group and oversee the Sunday morning altar prayer team. His personal testimony of God’s provision and miraculous healing from stage 4 cancer is a powerful testament to his faith, which he eagerly shares to encourage others. Whether speaking with strangers, welcoming new visitors, or uplifting his church family, Dale’s passion is to inspire everyone to seek the eternal truth of Jesus Christ.
With unwavering faith, he looks forward to all that God has in store for Berkley Chapel, his brothers and sisters in Christ, and the surrounding community.
